JAM 2017 is currently FULL.

The purpose of JAM (Junior High Adventures in Ministry) is to glorify God by equipping ministry level Jr. High students to serve Jesus Christ by providing them with excellent training and “hands-on” ministry experience.

Our Assumptions

  • We believe that God can use Jr. High students NOW as well as in the future! We give each student the opportunity to share his faith personally with a child through the Kids’ Day Outreach.
  • We believe that the students will learn more by DOING. Jam’s focus is on “Hands On” learning. This experience translates into life change!
  • Ministry Partnerships please God. Jam facilitates partnerships between ministries for the glory of God.
  • Ministry is a great GROUP BUILDER! One of the best ways for you to build unity in your youth group is to minister together. We design the program to facilitate this.

About Kids’ Day

On Saturday, Jr. High students will put on an outreach for children! The outreach is designed to allow students to spend time with kids. Past activities included: A team of Skaters, Giant Inflatable Sliding Board and Obstacle Course, Petting Zoo, Bingo, Stuffed Animal Give-Away, Double-Dutch, Basketball Knock-Out, Crafts, Chalk Art, Puppets, free lunch and more! Each student will have the opportunity to personally share his/her faith with a child. Our goal is that every child who comes will have the Gospel personally explained to him/her one-on-one. This mission is the focus of our weekend.

Cost & Registration

Cost

  • $100 for students, $75 for adult leaders!
  • Group registrations only; NO individual registrants.
  • This price includes all meals and lodging and also makes it possible for all of the children to attend Kids’ Day FREE of charge!

February
Please begin to strategically recruit your JAM Team. Remember, Jam is designed for believing students who have a heart to serve. Also, remember to carefully select a strong adult leadership team to join the students. The time that the adults spend with the students at JAM is invaluable. Please ask your church and your JAM Team to pray for the children who will come to Kids’ Day.

No more changes after April 5. After this date, it will not be possible to add or delete students. We will need to order t-shirts and get all the housing and other details ready.

Registration 4:00 pm 5:00 pm MAC Upper Lobby Leaders only in the registration area. Advise your students to remain outside or go to the lower level of the MAC. If you arrive after 4:40, please register and take your group immediately into dinner.
Dinner 5:00 pm 5:30 pm MAC Upper Level Dinner will close by 5:30 PM so plan to arrive by 5:00 PM at the latest.
Practice Games 6:00 pm 6:25 pm Athletic Fields We will walk through Saturday’s event and begin to prepare the students for the mission.
JAM Training 6:30 pm 7:45 pm BLC Various Rooms Bibles, pens, and handbooks needed. CEF will lead the training this year. Your students will learn to clearly share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Remind your students that each of them will share their faith on Saturday, so they need to pay careful attention during the training.
JAM Rally 8:00 pm 9:30 pm Chapel Worship led by the FBC band, and a challenge from the speaker.
Free Time 9:40 pm 10:40 pm MAC Lobbies & Gym Free Time in the Gym, Snacks & Drinks for Sale in Lower MAC. Ping Pong, Table Games, Hang out time.
Devo’s 10:45 pm 11:05 pm Dorms Prayer and Devo’s in the dorm rooms led by your leaders. Bible passages and questions can be found in the Jam Handbook.
Lights Out 11:05 pm Dorms This is a service weekend and students will need their sleep. We encourage all groups to work together to settle down quickly and get to sleep so that students can enjoy the weekend.

JAM Training 8:30 am 9:45 am BLC Various Rooms CEF Training Continues.
Prayer Walk 9:45 am 10:10 am Athletic Fields Go to the Athletic Fields and find your Group’s Spot.  Pray for the children who are on their way and await their arrival.  Welcome them when they come.
Greet Kids 10:20 am 11:00 am Fields Weather permitting, students and leaders should be in the grassy fields by 10:20 to greet the children as they come.  Some groups arrive early.
Kids’ Games 11:00 am 11:45 am Fields We will break into your groups and play some group games to get to know the children. Remember to encourage students to get to know the kids’ names and interact with them.
Lunch 11:45 am 12:30 pm Outside the MAC Students pair up with kids and guide them through the lunch line. Have students sit with kids and have lunch with them.
Kids’ Day Activities 12:30 pm 2:30 pm Cairn Campus You will rotate through six 20 minute stations with the kids. You will be given details about your rotation schedule at Jam.
Share Good News 2:30 pm 3:00 pm Cairn Campus Each of your students will personally share their faith with one or more children by using the PowerBand and the Flipper Flapper.
Kids Depart 3:05 pm 3:15 pm Parking Lots Your students will escort the kids to their vehicles and say goodbye.
Debriefing 3:45 pm 4:15 pm Various Locations Meet with your group to talk about what they experienced and write down any decisions that were made by the children so we can follow up with each one. Turn in your follow-up sheet to Matt or Michele McAlack at Dinner.
Dinner 5:00 pm 5:45 pm MAC Upper Level Come and enjoy a Scrumptious Dinner!

Depart 10: 00 am Dorms Have a Cairn University Team Member check your room and turn your keys into him/her. Please take all trash out to the dumpster and be sure your room is clean.
