Invisible ThreadLaura Sallade in the Connie A. Eastburn Gallery Laura Sallade (b. 1990; Reading, PA) is an artist living and working in Philadelphia, PA. Her series Invisible Thread, found in the Connie A. Eastburn Gallery, focuses on the relationship between light and material. Her works seek to have a conversation about the world, highlighting our flawed perceptions through the distortions and perceptions of light. Recently, she has been inspired by the Philadelphian landscape, developing themes of urban chaos while exploring ideas of metropolitan flux and tension. Sallade describes her creative process as one of curiosity, opting to let the process surprise her rather than plan every step. Ultimately, her goal is to create utilitarian objects that walk the line between image and object, offering viewers a space to think critically, pay attention, and reflect.
