Biblical Integration
The ability to think about persons and their problems from the vantage point of a Christian worldview is especially vital in counseling where the need to engage in dialogue with and a critique of research and applied psychology and psychotherapy defines “Christian” and “non-Christian” counseling. Your professors and peers will share your faith and support learning counseling as a Christian.
Internship Availability
Cairn’s counseling center—Center for Christian Counseling & Relationship Development (CCCRD)—provides hands-on experience for students of the MS in Counseling program that allows them to fulfill credits while practicing in a familiar environment.
Career Preparation
Cairn’s MS in Counseling program provides students with the preparation needed to be eligible for professional licensure. For additional information pertaining to licensure, please see our licensure page and/or contact the Director of Practicums & Internships. Students who wish to pursue licensure in states other than Pennsylvania and New Jersey should review the state licensure links on our licensure page and investigate state licensure requirements for state(s) of interest to ensure that Cairn’s MSC program meets each state’s requirements.
Weekly Labs
Our program design includes weekly labs that build strong networks with your cohort who you will grow with over the entirety of your time in the program. This structure also equips you to learn at a reasonable pace alongside your studies rather than packing all the information into one week-long intensive.

Choose Your Counseling Program Path
