Transferring Credits
The credit transfer process will vary from student to student. While there is not a definitive way to determine what credits will transfer before you apply, we’ve provided a few examples and guidelines to help you know what to expect with your hard-earned credits:
Gen-Eds
A good rule of thumb to remember is that, generally, gen ed courses usually transfer over; standard course names such as Intro to Psychology, Intro to Sociology, English Composition, or Computational/Conceptual Math are considered gen ed.
AP and CLEP
Cairn accepts AP scores of 3 or above as transferable. Cairn will also accept CLEP tests that score a minimum of 50 points. Learn more about CLEP transfer credits here.
Bucks County Students
As a Bucks County student, we already have a transfer sheet built out just for you!

Looking for Another Option?
If you’re looking to change direction, we have options for you as well. Cairn University has over 70 academic programs to choose from.
Financial Aid
In order for us to give you the best financial aid package possible, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the next academic year.
Spiritual Life
At Cairn University, we believe that Christ and His Word should be at the center of all that we do. We also believe that you don’t have to sacrifice academic excellence in order to study somewhere that will strengthen your faith.
The Bible is integrated into every academic program at Cairn. You’ll take courses in Bible and theology, and that theology will be applied in every other course you take. You will also be given opportunities to grow outside of the classroom through weekly chapels, Bible studies, mission trips, service opportunities, and involvement in a local church.
