Biography

Eric Jones is a music educator, teaching lessons in string instruments and conducting orchestras at five public schools in South Philadelphia. He also teaches in the music education program at Tenth Presbyterian Church and is on the cello faculty of the Csehy Summer School of Music. Mr. Jones holds degrees in cello performance from Temple University, where he studied with Orlando Cole and Deborah Reeder, and a bachelor’s degree from Stetson University, where he studied with David Bjella.

He has participated in the Schlern International Music Festival, the Bowdoin International Music Festival, and the Brevard Music Center, studying with cellists George Work, Elizabeth Simkin, and Ron Leonard. He has also performed in masterclasses with Mischa Maisky, Vagram Saradjian, David Ying, and members of the Emerson String Quartet. Eric lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Christine, and their two children, David and Andrew.
