J. Scott Cawood – BS, MS

Scott Cawood serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for the administration of operational and support functions within the University and coordinates the work of the Executive Leadership Team. Scott has been a teacher and administrator in Christian Education his entire professional career and is regularly tasked with development and implementation of strategic initiatives within the University. Previously, Scott spent nineteen years in K-12 Christian Education as a teacher, principal, and head of school. He joined Cairn as a faculty member in the School of Education and then transitioned to Dean of Students. He then transitioned to Vice President of Student Affairs and at various times has had oversight of student life, enrollment, marketing, athletics, food services, safety and security, and Title IX. He and his wife, Jackie, reside in Huntingdon Valley, PA. They have two married children and several grandchildren.

Adam Porcella – BA, MDiv, MA, EdD

Dr. Porcella’s interests and areas of research include behavioral insights in student retention, international higher education, and institutional change. He has worked in higher education at colleges and universities throughout the United States and internationally. In his role as Sr. Vice President and Provost, Dr. Porcella aims to bridge the gap between student affairs and academics in order to create more opportunities for student life staff and faculty members to think collaboratively on how to educate students holistically both inside and outside the classroom. His focus on student retention in his master’s and doctoral work supports his endeavors to create an educational experience that encourages more students to persist to graduation. Dr. Porcella and his wife Hannah have two daughters, Charis and Aletheia. He currently serves as an elder at Cresheim Valley Church (PCA) in his hometown of Philadelphia.

Yunn K. Kang – BS, MDiv, MBA
Sr. Vice President for Finance

Yunn Kang serves as Cairn University’s Sr. Vice President for Finance and teaches courses in business. A former Certified Public Accountant, Yunn Kang came to Cairn after a career serving as finance manager for a retail chain, director of finance for a healthcare provider, and several years in public accounting as an auditor and consultant for KPMG LLC. While at KPMG, he audited clients in healthcare, telecommunications, and biotechnology, in addition to consulting for financial services firms and banks.

Graham Thorpe – BS, MBA, MS
Sr. Vice President For Stewardship & Development

Graham Thorpe serves the University as the Sr. Vice President for Stewardship and Development. His role allows him to oversee strategic relationship development with alumni, foundations, friends, and businesses that want to help Cairn succeed as a Christ-centered institution. Graham has worked in the areas of advancement, marketing, and enrollment in Christian education for over 15 years. After graduating from Eastern University with a business degree, Graham spent several years in sales before returning to Eastern as their director of development. It was in this role that Graham made the transition from “relationship building in the sales world to engaging individuals and families in stewardship conversations that keep eternity in mind.” Prior to joining Cairn in 2020, Graham was the chief advancement officer at Annapolis Area Christian School in Maryland. This role included the leadership and oversight of marketing, development, enrollment, and alumni relations. Graham holds an MBA from Capella University and an MS in Educational Leadership & Administration from Cairn University. While originally from Annapolis, MD, Graham and his family live in Bucks County. He teaches graduate classes in the school of business.
