Homecoming 2022

We are delighted to welcome the entire University community back to campus for the weekend of Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24. More details on this weekend and the first ever celebration on campus with the new Stillman Athletic Complex—are coming soon.  You can direct any questions you have at this time to alumni@cairn.edu, and check our accommodations page for reduced local lodging rates for those coming in for the weekend.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Saturday, September 25

10 am – Brunch with the President*

  • Furman Dining Commons | The entire Cairn community is invited to have brunch with Cairn’s President. ($10 per person)

10 am – Prospective Student Campus Tour*

  • Welcome Center | Prospecitve students, siblings, and parents have a chance to see Cairn’s campus.

11 am–4 pm – Walkway Events, Fun & Games, Arts

  • Ferris Wheel & Ballistic | Join us for free rides on two brand new amusements with our new friends. Big Round Wheel’s Ferris Wheel has been at The White House, and in films and TV from HBO, Nextflix, and more.
  • Bouncy House & Inflatables for kids
  • Art Gallery | On display in the Eastburn Gallery is the Grace Carol Bomer exhibition.
  • Food Trucks
  • Cairn Arts Tent | Stop by the Cairn arts tent for a creative outlet with something for kids through adults.

1 pm – Speaker Series: Keith Plummer*

  • Knowing the Difference Between Scientism and Science and Why It Matters.

2 pm – Alumni Campus Tour*

  • Welcome Center | Been a while since you were on campus? Take our alumni campus tour, followed by a look at the newly renovated Masland Libary.

2 pm – Chorale Mini-Concert

  • Guests are invited to hear a chorale performance of current members and chorale alumni.

2 pm – Speaker Series: Greg Jensen*

  • “The Proclamation of the Church to Technological Civilization”: Prof. Greg Jensen speaks on his recent Triquetra publication, highlighting a Christian response to Human Genome Modification.

2 pm – Speaker Series: Kim Jetter*

  • “Biblical Counseling Perspectives on Identity, Relationships and Culture”

3 pm – Pickleball Tournament*

  • Bring a foursome or just yourself for a Pickleball tournament; beginners and champions are all welcomed.

3 pm – Cairn Cares Homecoming Run

  • A run/walk for both competitive and casual adventurers on Cairn’s wooded trails. Awards for winners; t-shirts for all. Please register separately for this event, a registration page is forthcoming.

11 am–2 pm – Pioneer Lunch

  • Walkway Tent | Affordable and delicious food for individuals and families.

12–2 pm – Pond Fishing

  • Campus Pond | Bring your own rod or borrow one of ours to reel in a few. Trust us, there are some big ones waiting for you!

12 pm – Speaker Series: Greg Jensen & Aneesh Khushman*

  • Join Dr. Aneesh Kushman and Prof. Greg Jensen for a fun kids’ science activity for kids in first through fifth grade. Parents must be present at the event.

12 pm – Axe Throwing

  • Lot | Adults (and teens fourteen and over) can test their throwing skills with “Bury The Hatchet” our Mobile Axe Throw Unit.

1 pm – Live Music

  • Circle Café

1 pm – Chorale Reunion*

  • Chorale alumni are invited to a reunion and practice for a performance to follow in the sterns lobby. Performance is open to all!

1–3 pm – Meet Your Local Heroes

  • Lot | Visit with our local service men and women who serve our community.

  • Cairn students (and siblings on campus), faculty, and staff are invited to a private Garden Party at the President’s Residence.
