Keynote Speaker

Don and Esther Parsons, Mission Eurasia

Don and Esther Parsons have served in cross-cultural missions for over 25 years.  As part of SEND International, Don and Esther with their four children lived in Kyiv, Ukraine, working as church planters as well as mission mobilizers, equipping and sending Ukrainians across borders to disciple the nations.  In Central Asia Don was team leader for a multicultural missionary team including Russians, Kazakhs, Americans, Canadians and a Filipina.

Don also served in SEND’s international office for 10 years as their director for International Personnel and Globalization.  He helped expand SEND’s global missionary force to include more workers from Asia, Latin America, Europe, and Australia on International teams and helped facilitate multicultural teaming.

Don has degrees from Cairn University and Columbia Biblical Seminary. Don and Esther have been married for 29 years.  For the last six years they have also volunteered on a local SEND team in Detroit teaching English and sharing the Light of Christ with Middle Eastern and Afghan immigrants and refugees.  They have four children, one very cute granddaughter and another grandchild on the way.

Please be in prayer for the Parsons as they prepare for World Reach Week, and as they currently serve those in Poland who have fled their homes in Ukraine.

What used to be a three-year cycle will now be introduced within each World Reach Week!

Monday Chapel:  Increase your awareness and passion for God’s global work and His heart for the world.

During Monday’s Chapel and throughout the week (and semester), you will expand your understanding of God’s calling upon a diverse worldwide church to carry out His work around the globe. You will be challenged to confront your assumptions about culture, the church, and missions. You will wrestle with your own perceptions and beliefs regarding what it means to love your global neighbors, and you will be inspired by the way God works through His people.

Wednesday Chapel:  Increase your effectiveness for service in God’s global work and His heart for the world.

During Wednesday’s Chapel and throughout the week (and semester), you will develop skills for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with your local and global neighbors. You will consider the various ways different people groups best understand the gospel and the impact you can have on those who are not yet followers of Jesus. You will be challenged to share the gospel with others as you fulfill your calling as God’s servant.

Friday Chapel: Increase your resolve to be part of God’s global work and His heart for the world.

During Friday’s Chapel and throughout the week (and semester), you will experience the ways God is working through a variety of initiatives to build His church. You will grapple with how you can serve as God’s ambassador to the world. You will be challenged to pursue your role in God’s global work.
