“Now retired in a comfortable cottage at Calvary Fellowship Homes in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Nancy and I have the pleasure of looking back at past ministries with gratitude to the Lord for the opportunities He provided. These retirement years also mean that we must look to the future, which is filled with the great expectation of one day being with the Lord. That blessed hope, however, does not address the dilemma that many of us senior citizens face: What do I do with the assets that won’t be needed in, nor can be taken to heaven? For Nancy and I, part of the solution was clear.
Looking back, the University provided the biblical education I needed for the foundation of three pastorates, as well as ministries in missions and Christian education. The values learned and the experiences gained at Cairn enabled a lifetime of opportunities for me to serve the Lord.
Our ministry now transitions into a new opportunity: to provide for Cairn’s continuing ministry through planned giving. Contributing through both annual contributions and our estate plan allows us to express thanks to the Lord for the biblical training the University provided. To enable future students to receive the Christ-centered education I was privileged to have is the greatest way we could use the estate we will one day leave behind.”
