Biography

Dr. Barry Yoder teaches natural sciences, including physical science, physical geology, astronomy, environmental science, and biology.  He has also taught units on reading instruction in secondary and elementary teacher education classes, as well as a variety of courses in the Degree Completion program.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Yoder served as the coordinator of Cairn’s support program for at-risk students for almost 20 years.  He has also taught physical science, astronomy, teaching reading in the content classroom, and remedial reading skills and vocabulary development at colleges in the region.  For local churches, he develops and presents workshops on teacher training for Sunday School programs.

Prior to teaching at Cairn, Dr. Yoder taught life science, earth science, and physical science at the middle school level for 5 years.  He has also coached junior high football, as well as Little League and Senior League baseball.
