As part of the University, each student becomes part of the Cairn family. Often, students and professors study, share meals and fellowship, and become part of one another’s lives during their time together. The campus is large enough to offer a broad cultural experience, and small enough to provide you with a supportive, community atmosphere.
Student groups promote leadership opportunities, spiritual maturity, and cultural awareness. Students walk along side one another, on the same path toward responsible decision making, spiritual growth, transformation, and character development.
Our student-athletes compete on 12 different NCAA intercollegiate teams, including: basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and more. Learn more about Cairn Highlander Athletics.
Additionally, Cairn has been ranked among the best schools for intramural sports. Students, faculty, and staff come together for fellowship and fun competition.
The performing arts provide students with a unique opportunity to be a part of a larger production, performed for faculty, staff, students, and the surrounding community. Recent productions include Shadowlands, Annie Get Your Gun, and You Can’t Take It With You. Cairn also offers many different musical groups and ensembles that students and members of the community are welcome to participate in.
The University Arts Initiative is an effort to strengthen the presence of and contribution to the arts on campus. Students are invited to explore Cairn’s integrated art galleries, as well as participate in visual art organizations, classes, and events.
The University Ministry Center and Urban Ministry Program have created partnerships with several local ministries in the Philadelphia area. Students are encouraged to reach out to the surrounding community in response to a growing need for tangible resources and aid. Through strategic relationships and the gathering of resources, our hope is to serve those in need, effecting change in the lives of the people living in our area. Students also have the opportunity to travel and serve across the country and overseas throughout the year on University sponsored mission trips.
Resident Life is a part of the unique university experience at Cairn. You will develop life-long friendships, learn in a social context, and most importantly, be a part of a dynamic university community.
From the classroom to the dorm, a student’s spiritual life and growth is woven throughout their whole university experience. In addition to the biblical integration in their academic work and the fellowship of a Christian campus community, students also regularly attend chapel services, participate in local ministries, and get involved with area churches.
Chapels, student ministries, and mission trips are overseen by the University Ministry Center.
Students have access to resources that are designed to assist with the transition to university life, to make sure they can enjoy a safe and healthy campus experience, and to prepare them for the professional world after they graduate. Learn more about available student services.
