Biography

John M. Frazier, a native of Philadelphia, holds a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance from Temple University, where he received a full scholarship. Teachers include the late Anthony Gigiliotti (Philadelphia Orchestra), George Silfies (St. Louis Symphony), and Ronald Reuben (Philadelphia Orchestra).  He has been on the faculty of Luzerne Music Camp, where he performed chamber music with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He has played with Delaware Symphony, Opera Delaware, Harrisburg Symphony, and The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Mr. Frazier held positions at Ursinus College as well as Temple University before coming to Cairn University as an affiliate artist. He has played with The Lettermen, van Cliburn, and many others and recorded with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Frazier worked with such conductors as Alan Gilbert, Lawrence Leighton Smith, and Stephen Gunzenhauser.

He recently performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto on a Bassett Clarinet, original instrument as Mozart intended, with The Abington Symphony and The Bryn Athyn Orchestras. He is also a state-certified music educator with thirty years of teaching experience. Mr. Frazier resides in Abington, PA, with his wife, Phyllis. They attend Abington Presbyterian Church.
