Cairn University’s School of Divinity is introducing a Master of Theology graduate degree program, beginning in Fall 2013. Designed for students seeking a more extensive preparation for teaching and preaching ministries of further post-graduate studies, the Th.M. program is built upon the foundation of Cairn’s Master of Divinity.
The Th.M. requires an additional 24 credit hours and can be completed in one year of full-time study. Students seeking the Th.M. may begin in Cairn’s M.Div. program and apply to the Th.M. in their final year. Applicants already holding an M.Div. or its equivalent from an accredited institution may be considered for admission into the final year of Cairn’s Th.M. program.
The program is designed around individual and small group learning. Students will study in small seminar settings, benefitting from interaction with faculty and peers. In addition, they will work closely with School of Divinity faculty in one-on-one and small group outside traditional classrooms.
A major feature of the program is the capstone thesis project, which will consist of original research in a field approved by the faculty and overseen by an appropriate advisor from among the faculty.
This degree program is another exciting new offering as the University continues to expand its academic opportunities for students.
