Renewal, the national student-led creation care organization, recognized PBU in its Green Awakenings Report 2011. PBU is listed among a list of 60 Christian colleges and universities. The report identifies the assets and barriers to creation care on Christian campuses.
PBU has established initiatives toward environmental stewardship. These initiatives include: a recycling program, a campus garden, food service initiatives, and academic courses. There are plans to build five more compost bins and add two more areas to grow. The garden continues to grow and will have a variety of herbs and vegetables this year.
