Expanding Academic Opportunities
Science and Technology Programs
Cairn University desires to continue moving forward by developing new academic programs for an ever-changing professional climate. To address these needs, the University has focused on the high-demand fields of science and technology.
Four programs were launched in Fall 2017: computer science, information systems, graphic design and mathematics. To support the new programs, the University added a new computer lab, complete with a VDI processing system; created a state-of-the-art computer lab to support graphic design students; and hired new faculty who specialize in teaching these areas of study.
Priority Goal
In Fall 2018, the University launched four science programs; biology (BA), biology (BS), pre-med, and pre-physical therapy. Two science labs were renovated and constructed to provide our enrolled biology students with hands-on experience required for professional competency. The University is also actively exploring partnerships with medical schools and hospitals to best prepare our pre-med and pre-physical therapy students.
To fully support the future and growth of our science and technology programs, we need to raise an additional $555,000. These funds will allow Cairn to hire new faculty members and purchase necessary equipment and materials in order to provide the best possible resources for our students.

“The Forward campaign has allowed us to continue Cairn’s good work by expanding its science offerings. Funds raised for new programs and labs allow us to offer a rigorous and interdisciplinary lab-based curriculum that prepares thoughtful and integrated scientists, while also providing the opportunity for students to successfully fulfill requirements to move to the next level of their post-graduate work.”
