The Philadelphia Phillies hosted Cairn University Night on Wednesday evening, where the Washington Nationals bested the Phils, 5-1, in front of a Citizens Bank Park crowd announced at 34,513 fans.
Over 700 tickets were sold at a discount through the University, providing faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, students, and friends of the University with an evening of fellowship and reconnection at the ballpark.
The evening kicked off with President Todd Williams throwing out the first pitch and the University Chorale’s singing of the national anthem.
These opening festivities were followed by the debut of Cairn’s Centennial Celebration video, as well as a showing of the Cairn commercial currently running in Central PA. Over 2500 limited-edition Cairn Night with the Phillies tees were distributed at the gates.
Throughout the night, baseball fans enjoyed the music of Cairn University’s Jazz Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, and On the Way (Cairn’s summer worship team, which performs each weekend on the Ocean City boardwalk and other venues).
It was a great evening for the University and the Cairn community. Thank you to all who came out for this special event!
