Alumni gathered with current students, faculty, staff, and community members to reconnect and celebrate Cairn University Homecoming 2018. The weekend was full of reunions, receptions, and various activities.
The days leading up to the weekend are always full of Homecoming anticipation. In chapel, students heard from Dr. Todd Williams, University president, and Dr. Michael Svigel ’96, professor of theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. In his Monday chapel, Dr. Williams gave students a pictorial tour of the University’s history. You can view this history and hear what the president had to say about the University in your era by watching this video.
Homecoming weekend always has its staples: the iconic Ferris wheel, competitive athletic games, and the warm company of friends and family. However, the Homecoming Committee works hard year-round to add to the excitement of the weekend. 2018 brought Cairn’s first family-friendly Fishing Derby, and the addition of bumper cars and digital caricatures were popular with alumni and their children. This year also hosted four alumni athletic reunions: women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, and men’s baseball.
