Cairn Baseball Team Serves in Panama

Cairn Baseball Team Serves in PanamaThis January, members of the Cairn Baseball Team, led by Coach Jan Haas, are again partnering with the David, Chiriqui, Panama and Langhorne, PA Rotary Clubs for a mission trip to Panama. After making their first trip to Panama in January 2011, the baseball team returned to continue their service to the communities they interacted with two years ago.
This year, the team is expanding their relationship with Iglesia Bautista Biblica de David, a local church with a large outreach to the David community that includes a bus ministry, soup kitchens, an orphanage, and much more. In addition, this year they are also partnering with Sports & Culture exchange International, an organization that for over 50 years has used the tool of sports to further the Kingdom of God.
The team arrived in Panama on Thursday, January 3, and has already had opportunities for ministry both through baseball and through personal relationships. Members of the team were able to share their testimonies in Sunday School classes and the church service at Iglesia Bautista Biblica de David. In addition, they have run baseball clinics in the town and played pick-up games of baseball and soccer with children at the church and in the community.   Members of the team are posting updates and photos at the Cairn Baseball Team’s blogsite: www.cairnhighlandersbaseball.blogspot.com.
