On December 27, the team arrived in Panama City with plans to serve the local communities by playing baseball against local teams, running baseball clinics, visiting churches, and sharing their testimonies with members of the community. Cairn student Matt Trotman recaps his first full day in Panama visiting and worshiping at a local church: “This was a beautiful thing, to hear and see people of different nationalities worshiping the one true God. It filled my heart with joy and made me wonder how great heaven will be when people from all over the world are worshiping together.”
The team enjoyed exploring Panama, eating traditional Latin American food, and playing baseball and soccer with the children. In addition to visits with indigenous tribes and a local church, the team conducted baseball clinics for approximately 225-250 people. Junior Eric Hodges shares, “Though we may not see the immediate impact of our sharing of the good news, we can take comfort in the fact that God has used us to plant a seed in the people of Panama.”
