Cairn University currently has three pieces from Makoto Fujimura’s The Four Holy Gospels on display in the Connie A. Eastburn Gallery, located in the Biblical Learning Center.The pieces are on loan from the private collection of a friend of the University.
Fujimura was commissioned by Crossway books to illuminate the gospels, the first single artist to be commissioned to such a task in over 400 years. The Four Holy Gospels is an exquisitely designed and produced edition of the four canonical Gospels, published in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible in 1611. Matthew – Consider the Lilies, Luke – Prodigal God, and John – In the Beginning are three of the pieces that Fujimura created for The Four Holy Gospels project.
The community is invited to visit this collection Monday through Friday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Guests are asked to register at Cairn’s Smith Administration Building—South Entrance, 200 Manor Avenue, Langhorne.
