Announcing the New School of Social Work

School of Social Work Faculty
Cairn University is pleased to announce that the Department of Social Work is now the School of Social Work. The Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the School of Social Work in May, as well as the appointment of Dr. Lloyd Gestoso as the first dean of the School.
Last Thursday, April 30, Dr. Gestoso successfully defended his dissertation, earning his Doctor of Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, he had received his Master of Social Work from UPenn in 1994, as well as a BS in Bible and Bachelor of Social Work from Cairn in 1991. He has taught at the University since 1999 and was named the Faculty Member of the Year in 2004.
Fittingly, the announcement of the School of Social Work marks the beginning of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the social work program at Cairn. The celebration will continue through the 2015–16 academic year, featuring special events for students, alumni, and friends of the University and social work program.
We thank God for His blessings on the social work program, its founders, faculty, alumni, and current students. We are excited to celebrate what has been done and look forward to enriching a program dedicated to the well-being of individuals, families, groups, and communities.
