Assistant Professor; Director, Urban Ministry First Year Program

  • DMin in Complex Urban Systems, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary
  • MA in Global Urban Missions, Bakke Graduate University

My passion is to teach and train leadership for the work of God on earth. I want to look back on my life and know that (1) I have spent myself in helping others assume spiritual leadership in their homes, church, workplace, and society; and (2) I have provided a feast for the flock of God under my care. My life is energized by studying and teaching God’s Word, so that it can impact lives in practical ways.

When serving as a pastor for 19 years, I loved the people and being part of their lives and spiritual growth. I had a front row seat to both suffering and victories in their lives. It was my privilege to serve people in the name of Christ.

As a professor, I don’t get to see entire lifespans, but I find great reward in walking with my students on their spiritual and educational journey for the time they are at Cairn. I take pleasure in getting to know them and knowing that I had a small part in training them for the future work they will do for Jesus Christ.
