3rd Annual Stand Firm Mens’ Conference: Lessons from the Life of Daniel

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1536160020033{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]On Friday, November 13, Cairn University held its 3rd Annual Stand Firm Men’s Conference. The event was organized by Cairn nurse Alison Kikendall, who has been in charge of both the annual men’s conference and ladies’ conference for the past three years. During the annual men’s conference, male Cairn students and men in the surrounding communities gather together for a time of learning, worship, fellowship, and communion.
This year’s lessons focused on the life of Daniel. The conference had an early start as alumnus Vince McDonald ’83, senior pastor at Immanual Baptist Church, spoke at the men-only chapel on Friday morning. He spoke on the importance of friendships and relationships in light of the Scriptures. In the evening, the conference was kicked off with worship from Cairn’s contemporary worship band, On the Way. Alumnus Mike Mrazek ’97/G’13, senior pastor at Forked River Baptist Church, returned to campus to speak on integrity and passion. The night concluded with communion led by Dr. Matt McAlack ’83, professor in the School of Divinity.
With more than 60 people in attendance, the event was a wonderful time for the men of Cairn University and Bucks County to eat, learn, and grow together as a community. They especially enjoyed the cupcakes, baked by Nurse Alison, which have become a tradition at both the men’s and ladies’ conferences.
