In addition to the general admissions process, graduate applicants must complete the following program-specific application requirements:
Master of Science in Christian Counseling
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Science in Christian Counseling degree program must:
- Statement of Purpose Essay (250-500 words), addressing the following question: What do you believe you will learn about yourself, God, and others while studying at Cairn?
Biblical Integration Essay (750-1000 words): Choose an author, theologian, well-known Christian counselor, or philosopher and discuss how his/her views have shaped your thinking on a biblical text or theme that has significant meaning for you. What are its implications for counseling troubled people?
- Complete an interview with various faculty members of the program. The interview will last approximately three hours and will be scheduled by your admissions professionals after all other admissions requirements have been met.

Master of Science in Education
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Science in Education degree program must:
- Submit two Professional/Academic Reference Forms.
- Complete an additional essay (one page), addressing the reasons for wanting to be a teacher in the 21st century. If you are currently teaching, please address the reasons for which you are seeking an M.S. in Education degree at this point in your career.

M.S. in Educational Leadership and Administration
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration degree program must:
- Have completed three years of teaching.
- Complete an additional essay entitled, “My Current View of the State of Education in my Country and What I Would Like to Do to Promote the Education of Children and Youth.”
- Complete and submit the following forms:

Master of Business Administration
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Business Administration degree program must:
Prove proficiency in the areas of accounting,
economics/finance, and statistics. Demonstration of proficiency may be
accomplished through either of the following methods:
- Successful
completion of Cairn’s B.S. in Business Administration, or any regionally
accredited institution, including attainment of a minimum 2.0 GPA in the
above listed areas of study.
- Successful completion of respective CLEP and/or DSST exams.
Submit Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
scores prior to acceptance into the program. Exceptions to this
requirement are as follows:
- Applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Proof of completion of a post-baccalaureate degree at a regionally accredited college or university.
- At least 3 years of full-time, professional work in a related field.
Submit two Professional/Academic Reference Forms.
Interview with program faculty.

Master of Science in Organizational Leadership
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership degree program must:
- Submit a letter from the director, president, board member, or manager of the organization endorsing your involvement in the program and authorizing your learning process, especially in the area of research.
- Complete an additional essay, describing your responsibilities and involvement in paid or volunteer organizations (church, parachurch, social services, business, etc.) over the past three years.
- Submit two Professional/Academic Reference Forms.

Master of Divinity
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Divinity degree program must:
- Complete an additional essay, responding to the following:
- Describe your own sense of readiness for the coursework for the Master of Divinity Program (reflect upon the requirements of Greek and Hebrew, Homiletics, and Guided Field Experience).
- Describe any challenges, inhibitions, or other unique characteristics which you would need to overcome to complete the Master of Divinity degree program.
- Describe your current participation in ministry (include name of church/ministry, whether full time or part time, local church or parachurch, missionary, or other).
- How do you anticipate that your participation in ministry will change when you enter the Master of Divinity degree program; how will your participation change when you graduate from the program?
- Submit one Professional/Academic Reference Form and one Pastor Reference Form.
- Complete an interview with various faculty members of the program. The interview will last approximately one to two hours and will be scheduled by your admissions professional.

Master of Arts in Religion
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Arts in Religion degree program must:
Complete two reference forms, one Professional/Academic Reference and one Pastor Reference.

Master of Theology
In addition to the general admissions requirements for graduate students, applicants to the Master of Theology degree program must:
- Submit official transcripts showing a conferred Master of Divinity (or equivalent) from an accredited university or seminary with a 3.0 or higher GPA, including courses in NT Greek and Biblical Hebrew.
- Demonstrate proficiency in both Greek and Hebrew exegesis.
- Submit an academic Letter of Reference.
- Interview with program faculty.
- Submit an essay introducing and discussing a proposed topic for a thesis.
