Study Abroad 

Cairn students have the opportunity to participate in BestSemester, the study abroad program of the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities. BestSemester includes a total of ten different semester programs and one summer program. Students can also take advantage of Cairn’s partnership with Jerusalem University College, where they can spend a semester in a unique setting for study of the land, language, history, and culture of the Bible.

Global Mission Trips and Global Mission Week

Cairn’s mission and commitment to the centrality of Christ and His Word propel us as an institution to be committed to the work of global missions.

Each year, Cairn’s Global Mission Week brings missionaries on to campus in chapel, social settings, special events, and into classrooms to share with students the vision for taking God’s Word to the nations.   

Students, faculty, and staff regularly participate in Global Mission Trips. Past trips to countries around the world have included activities such as evangelism, musical performance, construction, sports clinics, medical clinics, student ministry, ESL classes, and topical seminars.

We believe that our global mission emphasis is not just an experience or activity, but an intentional, practical way to prepare students as men and women of character who in their service to Christ are committed to participation in the church, making a positive contribution to society, and sharing God’s love for all the peoples of the world.

International Internships

Many of Cairn’s professional programs require internship or practicum experiences as a part of their curriculum. Students are encouraged in many programs to consider an international setting for this experience. In the past, students have taught in missionary kid or international school overseas, worked for non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses overseas, and served with mission agencies and global churches. Any student can consider making an international internship a part of their Cairn experience.
