Stewardship

Cairn University is focused on God’s Word, which is specifically and intentionally at the core of every academic program and critical to the accomplishment of our mission.  This impacts our views on stewardship.

  • We believe everything belongs to God (Psalm 24:1)

  • We believe we are called to be stewards (2 Corinthians 8:7)

  • We believe a comprehensive approach to stewardship is vital. It includes providing for your family, the local church, non-profit organizations that benefit the community, and ministries that serve the Lord (Matthew 16:27)

The University Advancement staff, along with The Regency Foundation, desire to assist you with your stewardship goals through wise counsel and careful planning.  Let us help you discover how you can make a difference in your life, the life of your family, and the life of Cairn University.

At Cairn University, we believe that everything we have belongs to God and is a gift from Him. We believe that the Bible calls all believers in Jesus Christ to practice stewardship in their lives, especially in the areas of time, talent, and treasure.

When it comes to the stewardship of one’s treasure, we believe that a comprehensive approach is vitally important. A comprehensive approach should include providing for one’s family, support for the local church, support for non-profit organizations vital to the local community, and support for ministries that serve the Lord in ways the local church cannot.

Cairn University stands as an organization committed to prepare men and women of godly character to serve Christ in the church, community, and the world in which we live. The key focus for us is that the Bible, God’s Word, is specifically and intentionally at the core of every academic program and critical to the accomplishment of our stated mission. We believe, because of our intention to be deliberate in our central commitment to and focus on God’s word, we fill a unique role and needed mission for the days in which we live.

The Office of University Advancement endeavors to assist the University’s alumni and friends in the practice of their stewardship as they align the needs of the University with the interest level and giving capacity of the donor. Whether that be the Cairn Scholarship Fund, specific campus renovation projects, or a major capital campaign, our true desire is to invite you to partner with Cairn as you follow God’s call to practice stewardship of the treasure and resources He has given to you.

Similarly, The Regency Foundation at Cairn stands ready to assist alumni and friends in an even broader consideration of stewardship through wise counsel, careful estate planning, Wills and legal considerations, and the development of strategic planned gifts (such as charitable annuities and charitable trusts) that provide for the needs of one’s family while supporting the Lord’s work in a coordinated and comprehensive plan.

We are reminded of the words of the patriarch Job, who said, “naked I came into this world…and naked I will return” (Job 1:21). Everything we have belongs to God. Everything we have is a gift from God. We came into the world with nothing, and will leave with nothing. What we do in between those two points in time with God’s gifts of time, talent, and treasure is called stewardship. And how well we practice stewardship can and will make a difference that only eternity will fully reveal.

We at Cairn are prepared to help you practice stewardship to the best of your ability, and for the glory of God, so that together we may marvel and rejoice at some future date to see all that God did in and through our obedience to practice wise stewardship of His resources.
